Since early 2005, SPB has offered electricity insurance in France in the form of Poweo, directly competing with EDF, which offers policyholders (via their bill) up to €250 of cover in case of damage subsequent to a power cut.

In October 2005, this policy was supplemented with Poweo Gaz, offering professionals assistance in case of boiler or heating failure. This SPB-designed product guarantees a fixed sum to cover repair work on gas installations (failure, diagnosis, the call-out of an engineer) and offers a carbon monoxide detector (CO patch).
