The high standards and career opportunities of a leading company …

  • Diverse business lines, open to change

Working for SPB means becoming part of a business environment whose prime characteristic is diversity:

- Diversity of business lines: claims and administration representatives, team managers, legal specialists, marketing campaign managers, Java developers, network engineers, etc.

- Diversity of careers, from team management to highly specialised areas of work.

- Diversity of cultures: SPB is present in 11 countries.

SPB is a dynamic company in which staff can progress and develop their skills in order to contribute to the excellent standards of service provided to our customers. A wide variety of projects, diversified product offering and advances in in-house technologies create many opportunities within the company. SPB is keen to encourage mobility and build expertise in-house.

  • Training, a key area

SPB devotes a significant budget to training in order to provide continuous support for staff in their development and career progression.

In figures:

  • Training budget: 2.96% of the payroll (the legal obligation in France is 1.6%)
  • 544 training initiatives organised
  • 16,334 hours of training provided

In 2010 SPB also set up its own school. The objective is to provide complete, efficient training for new hires, and to encourage the upskilling of all members of staff in order to keep up with the rapid pace of change in the company’s business lines. This is essential for SPB, which recruited almost 100 employees assigned to policyholder relations in 2009 and launched more than 60 new products. Right from the start, the school set high standards of performance and, at end-2010, received the authorisations necessary to train the Group’s external service provides end partners. New arrivals and new managers receive dedicated training as soon as they arrive in the company.

… but that remains on a human scale

  • Diversity in the company

Promoting pluralism and diversity in recruitment and career management is a factor of progress for the company. This approach contributes to efficiency and to good labour relations. It also enhances the company’s image with its customers, external service providers and consumers in France and other countries.

The Diversity Charter adopted by our company sets out our commitment to diversity – cultural, social, ethnic or even age-related – across our organisation.

  • A “reSPonsiBle" approach

SPB has also put in place a “reSPonsiBle” human and environmental  approach at all levels of the company. For SPB being responsible means welcoming others, recruiting them and helping them to make progress, regardless of age, origin, disability, etc.

SPB had already clearly stated its commitment to non-discrimination in hiring, particularly on the basis of age, when it signed a Diversity Charter in 2005. Recently, staying one step ahead of French legislation, the SPB Group signed an agreement on the employment of older workers. Through this agreement, SPB commits first and foremost to respecting a minimum proportion of employees in this category in its workforce. The agreement also includes measures to anticipate career development, improve working conditions, prevent working conditions that are physically hard or intensive, improve access to training, adapt the end-of-career period and the transition between work and retirement and – last – pass on know-how and skills and develop mentorships.

  • Ethical rules

The SPB Group is built on values shared by all members of staff: team spirit, enthusiasm, initiative, perseverance, respect, and a sense of service. SPB employees make a personal commitment to the company, to other employees and also to external third-parties, in agreeing to respect rigorous ethical rules.
