SPB and Orange Switzerland rolled out a new mobile telephone insurance product on 18 April.
Modelled on the French programme Orange Sécurité, this insurance is sold as a simple option with the service. It can be taken out or cancelled from month to month, just like other options such as call waiting or caller ID. Depending on the level of coverage, the subscriber is insured against accidental damage, blatant theft, accidental loss, SIM card replacement, and fraudulent use. Broken phones covered by this insurance are repaired by local partners in Switzerland.
