In 2006 and 2007, SPB has sponsored adventuress Ulla Lohmann to research the traditions and rites of so-called ‘primal’ peoples, from the Marquesas islands to Vanuatu, including Papua-New Guinea. On her travels, she focuses especially on the rites and beliefs of women.
